The Amazon, including the forest of Suriname, is known for the most diverse and unique hardwoods on earth. There are hundreds of different species in the Amazon Rain Forest of Suriname, each one best used for a different purpose like furniture, construction, wood sculptures or canoes.

Suriname was the first country to implement strict forest management rules, ensuring in a sustainable wood processing industry that meets all international conservation standards.
